MEET THE ATTORNEY
Martin grew up in Toledo, Ohio, and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1983. He spent ten years living as a songwriter in Texas and Tennessee and also spent time abroad in England. In 1993, he earned a BA in Art History from the University of Toledo. Afterward, he worked as an assistant for the internationally known glass artist Jon Kuhn in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Martin returned to Toledo and earned his law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law, being admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1998. With extensive litigation experience in private practice within state and federal courts, he is also a former prosecuting attorney. For those seeking skilled attorneys in Tiffin, Ohio, Martin’s practice areas include civil litigation, criminal defense cases, and consulting for small businesses. Additionally, Martin is an adjunct professor at Heidelberg University, where he teaches Business Law, and at Tiffin University, where he teaches Music Law and Music Publishing. Beyond his legal career, Martin is a performing songwriter and serves as the regional coordinator for the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). He presents workshops and seminars for songwriters and musicians and provides Continuing Legal Education for attorneys on matters related to copyright law and music law.
